It's the last full week of digital learning!
Tomorrow, I will post the final exam. Of course, it is going to be in (short) essay format. Answers will be approximately one paragraph long. Your finished final will need to be uploaded to www.turnitin.com by midnight on Friday, May 15th. Taking the final can only raise your grade; it cannot lower it. Taking it is up to you.
Chapters 30 and 31: Things to highlight/make note of:
In the confusion, Atticus mistakenly believes Jem killed Bob Ewell
It was actually Boo Radley who stabbed Mr. Ewell
Sheriff Tate and Atticus know that if word gets out to the town that Boo did the killing, he will get a great deal of unwanted attention
The Sheriff decides that the official story will be that Bob Ewell fell on his knife
When Atticus asks Scout if she understands, she says, "Well, it'd be sort of like shootin' a mockingbird, wouldn't it?" She means that Boo was only saving the kids - he was trying to help. It would be a "sin" to get him unwanted attention from the town.
Atticus thanks Boo for his children, and Scout walks him home
The story ends with Atticus tucking Scout into bed and Scout knowing that things will be better in the morning
Take today to finish reading or watching the film (if possible). Here is a video to help you prepare for the final.
